Mediation is a form of informal dispute resolution, where a facilitator helps work colleagues who are in conflict to have a structured conversation about their issues and repair their working relationship. Mediation is a quick and cost effective way to resolve disputes, avoid expensive tribunal costs and maintain productivity. Participants usually leave with verbal or written agreements to help manage their ongoing working relationship.
Why should you choose mediation for your organisation?
It’s quick – most mediations are completed in one day, sometimes two
It’s ‘win-win’ – I don’t look to apportion blame, but try to help the parties come to a better understanding of each other and agree a way forward
It’s comparatively cheap – tribunals and settlements can cost tens of thousands of pounds
It supports productivity – disputes at work can fuel sickness absence and reduced productivity
